We recently completed our home renovation in August 2025 with Stephen from Modern Living, and we genuinely recommend him. From the beginning, Stephen stood out among the 5–7 IDs we met. His professionalism, calm confidence, and experience made us feel comfortable—especially important for us because we were previously scammed by an ID 10 years ago during our first home renovation ( FYI only: scammer was a guy called Simon from Houz). Naturally, we were skeptical and cautious this time, but Stephen earned our trust through his actions, not just words. It’s important to share that our renovation journey was quite specific—I’m someone who already knows exactly what I want. I had a clear design vision, moodboards, and a good idea of the look and feel I was going for. I didn’t need someone to design from scratch for me—instead, I needed someone who could understand, advise, and execute my ideas professionally, while managing the full renovation. Stephen did just that. He understood every concept I had and gave practical suggestions to improve the flow or functionality where needed. Stephen is also extremely responsive and reliable. Hiccups are expected in any renovation, but he handled them calmly and effectively. He kept things moving, and always updated us in a timely manner. That said, homeowners also need to play their part—we were mindful to be responsive when decisions or purchases were needed, like choosing appliances, to avoid holding up the process. In terms of pricing, Stephen was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. But after studying all the quotes we received, his pricing was the most fair and properly itemised. What stood out was that he included many potential hiccup-related items upfront in the quote, so there were no shocking or hidden add-ons later. That gave us great peace of mind during the process. The finishing and workmanship are excellent, and the house turned out exactly how we envisioned. Stephen handled the project smoothly from start to end and truly delivered. Lastly, I’ve noticed that many people are hesitant to recommend their ID even when their homes look great. But our experience with Stephen from Modern Living was excellent, and we have no hesitation recommending him—he have all the experience to guide and manage those who are lost and those who knows what design they want.
