Had a really great experience renovating our house with Johnamin. He was easy to talk to, very responsive, and always patient with our questions and changes. Communication was smooth throughout and we always knew what was going on. The workmanship turned out great and the whole process was much less stressful than we expected. Super happy with how the place looks now. Would definitely recommend Johnamin to anyone planning a renovation!

This renovation strikes a very confident balance between warmth, functionality and modern elegance. The overall palette soft beige walls, warm wood cabinetry and subtle marble textures creates a cohesive, calming atmosphere that feels both upscale and livable. The living area is particularly well executed. The TV feature wall with the marble backdrop and integrated shelving adds a strong focal point without overwhelming the space. The concealed lighting along the ceiling perimeter gives a soft ambient glow, enhancing the room’s depth and making it feel more spacious. The choice of a neutral-toned sofa complements the palette nicely, while the styling elements (plants, ceramics, and books) add just enough personality without clutter. The transition into the dining area is seamless. The use of matching materials and tones maintains visual continuity, while the mirror and console setup subtly expand the space and reflect light. The dining setup feels intimate and practical, with thoughtful styling that gives it a welcoming, almost boutique-hotel vibe. The kitchen stands out for its clean, modern layout and smart use of space. The combination of wood cabinetry and light countertops keeps it visually light despite the amount of storage. The integration of appliances and the compact island/bar area shows good planning functional for daily use but also suitable for hosting. It does lean slightly busy with the number of items on the counter, but that’s more styling than design. One of the strongest aspects of this renovation is the lighting design. The layered approach, cove lighting, downlights, and task lighting adds dimension and mood flexibility throughout the home. It elevates what could have been a standard renovation into something more refined. If there’s any critique, it would be that the design plays it quite safe. While very polished, it leans heavily on current trends (wood slats, marble panels, warm neutrals), which may date over time. Introducing one or two bolder elements art pieces, contrasting textures, or a statement color could give the space a more unique identity. Overall, this is a thoughtfully designed, highly cohesive renovation that prioritizes comfort, practicality and understated luxury. It feels like a space that’s easy to live in, yet impressive enough to host in. Thank you Derick for the ideas you proposed. The time we spend to get the ideas came to reality. First and Foremost would like to give a big thanks to Jiayen & Derrick for the professionalism in executing both contractual and ethical considerations. It has been a great pleasure to have them do up my parents kitchen. They are patient from the quotation stage. They listen and yet guide on possibilities of both budget and design. Very accommodating and responsive is definitely a plus point. In the execution stage they have a very strong team of professionals contractors which produced quality in delivering the job. As it is a live in job, the timeline was within promised with regular updates provided. Strongly recommended if you are planning to revamp.

A good listener who not just empathizes with your aesthetic wants but also makes sure your functional needs are fulfilled and you are not just living in an aesthetic nightmare. He was true to his words, worked very well within our budget, no overcharging or fake promises, and the outcome was very satisfying.
